He named himself. An acronym, mailed to newsrooms, is a brand submission — and the newsrooms accepted it, printed it, and kept printing it for thirty years.
He was caught largely because he could not stop corresponding. The same appetite that built the name closed the file.
The typewriter on this jacket is the only marketing department in the series that the killer staffed himself.
